We use your personal information to:

  • Operate and improve the Holler marketplace

  • Send booking confirmations, reminders, and support communications
  • Resolve disputes and detect fraud

We do not use your personal information for advertising profiling or sell it to third parties.

3

We share information only as necessary to operate the platform:

  • Stripe: payment processing
  • Certn: background checks (Tasker data only)
  • Resend: transactional email delivery
  • Supabase / AWS: secure cloud data hosting

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or to prevent harm. We require all service providers to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy law.

4

Security

We use industry-standard encryption, access controls, and secure hosting to protect your personal information. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

5

Where Your Data Is Stored (Cross-Border Transfer)

Your personal information — including sensitive identity verification and background-check data — is stored and processed by service providers located in the United States, including Stripe, Certn, Resend, and Supabase/AWS. As a result, your information may be subject to United States laws and may be accessed by US authorities through lawful access requests, court orders, or other legal processes.

Holler requires all of these providers to protect your personal information under standards comparable to those required by Canadian privacy law.

6

Sensitive Information (Taskers)

For Taskers, we collect criminal background check results and a government-issued ID. This is sensitive personal information, and we treat it accordingly:

  • It is collected with your express, separate consent during onboarding.
  • It is used solely to verify your eligibility and the safety of the marketplace.
  • It is accessible only to authorized Holler staff and our screening provider, Certn.
  • It is retained only as long as needed for that purpose.
7

Data Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law (for example, tax and accounting records). After that, we delete or anonymize it.

By way of illustration:

  • Account data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period after you close your account, subject to legal or tax retention holds.
  • Background-check results are retained only as long as needed to maintain your eligibility as a Tasker.
8

Cookies

Holler uses essential cookies required for authentication and platform functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookie settings through your browser, though disabling essential cookies may affect platform functionality.

9

Your Rights (PIPEDA)

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions; note that withdrawing consent for essential uses may mean Holler can no longer provide the service to you
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@hollerservices.com. We will respond within 30 days.
