Holler ("Holler", "we", "us") operates in British Columbia and is subject to the province's Personal Information Protection Act(PIPA). Because some of your information is handled by service providers outside British Columbia, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) also applies to those transfers. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Holler platform.

We do not use your personal information for advertising profiling or sell it to third parties.
We share information only as necessary to operate the platform:
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or to prevent harm. We require all service providers to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy law.
We use industry-standard encryption, access controls, and secure hosting to protect your personal information. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
If a breach happens. If personal information in our care is lost or accessed without authorization, and there is a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the applicable privacy regulator as soon as feasible. Our notice will describe what happened, what information was involved, what we are doing about it, and what you can do to protect yourself. We keep a record of all breaches, whether or not they meet the notification threshold.
Your personal information, including sensitive identity verification and background-check data, is stored and processed by service providers located in the United States, including Stripe, our screening provider, Resend, and Supabase/AWS. As a result, your information may be subject to United States laws and may be accessed by US authorities through lawful access requests, court orders, or other legal processes.
Holler requires all of these providers to protect your personal information under standards comparable to those required by Canadian privacy law.
For Taskers, we collect criminal record check results from our screening provider. You confirm your identity with that provider directly, so Holler never receives or stores your ID documents. The results are sensitive personal information, and we treat them accordingly:
We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law (for example, tax and accounting records). After that, we delete or anonymize it.
